Current Volunteer Opportunities






Multiple Sclerosis Aid
We are in need of a volunteer to help with Mon/Wed/Frid 9:30-10:30 Multiple Sclerosis Exercise Class. Help is needed to aid participants to and from the pool; before and after class. An Instructor Aid for the (immediate above) information is also needed.


Youth Sports Coaches
Coaches are needed for our after school sports programs.  Please call the YMCA at 253-2664 or submit an application.

Swim Lesson Aid
We have volunteer opportunites for people interested in working as an Aid in swimming lessons for children with special needs. Certification required.


Rainbow Room
We are looking for someone that loves playing with and having fun with children to fill our Child Care Attendant volunteer position. This opening is for various hours in our Rainbow Room. For details and more information on this volunteer opportunity, please call Michelle at the YMCA at 253-2664.


Lifeguard / Instructor
Anyone is welcome to volunteer as a Lifeguard or Instructor as long as he/she is certified by the American Red Cross or American Heart. Help assist and instruct our aquatic classes such as; Senior Water Fitness, Arthritis Exercise, M.S. Exercise, Stretch & Flex, Shallow Water Fitness, & Deep Water Jog.


Aquatic Instructor
We are looking for volunteers to help with our aquatic fitness classes in areas such as: instructors & instructor assistants.


Cleaning / Painting / Grounds & Building Maintenance
Time commitment is flexible - ranging from a few hours per week to a one-time special project.


Pool Cleaning
We have an annual pool cleaning & touch-up where volunteers are especially appreciated.


United Way Day of Caring
A great opportunity to get involved - at the United Way Day of Caring which is held once in the spring and once in the fall.


Supervised Visitation Supervisor
Impact of Volunteer Assignment: To help keep services at low cost for families that are court ordered to this program and to provide a safe environment for children to visit a parent.

Responsibilities: To supervise and document visitation sessions. To also understand and enforce rules of the program.

Requirements and Useful Skills: Post-secondary education in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice or Child and Family Studies. Must be 18+ years of age and able to work independently.

Time Commitment: Varies.
